Diesel Technician - Automotive

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Diesel Technician to join our team. The Diesel Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related systems in a variety of vehicles and equipment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance on diesel engines, including oil changes, filter replacements, and system inspections.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in diesel engines and related components.
  • Conduct performance tests on diesel engines to ensure they meet manufacturer specifications.
  • Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and troubleshoot issues.
  • Replace or repair defective parts, such as sensors, fuel injectors, and turbochargers.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of repairs.
  • Follow safety protocols and industry best practices to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to continue learning and staying updated with advancements in diesel technology.

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certification or technical training in diesel engine repair and maintenance.
  • Minimum of two years' experience working as a Diesel Technician.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
